Save Track Time

  RT2500 RT3000 RT4000

How do we save you time?
Justifying new equipment today is hard. But, when you add up all the things an RT Inertial and GPS Navigation System can do for you, it makes sense. If you need to instrument a vehicle there is no quicker way than with an RT.

Compared to...
RT Strut

Install quickly using RT-Strut
The RT-Strut wedges your RT Sensor between the floor and the roof of your vehicle. It provides a secure and effective mounting for the RT. Typically you put it behind the front seats above the transmission tunnel.

The installation time of an RT-Strut is typically 5 minutes, unless you leave your RT on the RT-Strut all the time. Then it takes 30 seconds.

Fitting accelerometers, gyros, slip sensor, laser height sensors accurately on a vehicle takes hours.

Our customers normally estimate this between 5 and 9 hours for a full set of sensors comparable to the RT's measurements.

CAN bus

Connect it quickly using CAN
You can get all the outputs using the CAN bus on one connector.

The single CIA Standard CAN bus connector on the RT gets connected in seconds to your acquisition system.

All the wires from the distributed sensors take time to connect correctly.

Calibrated Measurements

Calibrated Measurements
The RT comes calibrated, so you waste no time on this. The CAN DBC file holds all the information your software needs to know. Load it directly into your acquisition system.

Calibration constants, zero offsets, scale factor compensation all require time to get right.

Vehicle alignment

Align Measurements to Vehicle
The RT comes with software functions to adjust the mount angle and align the measurements to the vehicle.

Because all the measurements in the RT are from the orthogonal inertial sensors, you only have to line up one sensor and you will get more precise results.

It is virtually impossible to align all of your distributed sensors to one co-ordinate system accurately. Typically you have to "eye-ball" it and this doesn't lead to accurate, repeatable results.

Reduce Calculated Channels

Direct Output of Calculated Channels
Lateral Acceleration, Roll Angle, Slip Angle at 5 locations, Remote Acceleration, the list is endless…

We have computed everything we could think of in the RT, so you don't have to compute it yourself. Just capture it.

Computing roll corrected acceleration, remove slip angle, curvature, slip rate takes time to program and get correct, especially when sensors have different delays.

Drive Fewer Tests

Drive fewer tests
The sensitivity of the RT means that you can extract more information from the data. You will require fewer tests as you may no longer need to average the results.

Because all the information is available in Real-Time, you can see the results as you drive (or immediately afterwards for safety!)

Many sensors need to be filtered or averaged in order to achieve their full potential. Many test plans have redundant tests included so that averaging can be performed post-mission.

Robot Interface

Robot Interface
The RT comes with an interface to the ABD Steering Robot. You can acquire with the robot, use path-following to drive the car or perform dangerous tests using the autonomous robot. All quickly.

Even the best test drivers cannot match the repeatability of a robot. Here are some results…

Put simply, you'll get more than twice as much done in less than half the time. Saving you money.
